If you’re reading this you’re probably considering buying The Truth About Six Pack Abs by Mike Geary. Not so long ago I was in the same boat. Now, I’m not going to try and give you the hard sell like many of the so called “review” sites on google, but I’m genuinely going to give you a clear and unbiased review of The Truth About Six Pack Abs after reading all 149 pages from cover to cover.
After years of struggling to keep my weight ON, the tide turned and all of a sudden, I was starting to show signs of SHOCK – BELLY FAT, BEER BELLY, LOVE HANDLES etc etc – call it what you like, but the truth is it didn’t look great.
I started my search for answers at the gym, joined a tennis club and bought some very flash nike trainers. Every morning I started to jog around the park. In my defense was certain that I’d be able to keep this going, but got really bored with it and the motivation just disappeared. I love playing tennis, so that wasn’t an issue.
The gym was a bit more complicated. I asked the trainers for help and after telling me that my body fat was a little high and you should hit the treadmill followed by abdominal crunches etc, with no real explanation as to why and for what benefit. A personal trainer was surely the answer, but not made of money, so that was not an option.
I researched the internet to try and learn everything I could about toning, six packs, abdominal exercises and losing belly fat. In truth there are a lot of resources out there and they all really say the same thing , that you need to do a million crunches and only then will you be worthy of anything close to a six pack set of abs. (Men’s Health being the perfect example).
The first time I came across Mike Geary’s book, The Truth About Six Pack Abs, I was skeptical. Sure, he offered a 60 day money back guarantee, but have you ever tried to get a refund after buying something online, sometimes it can be more bother than it’s worth.
After reading through the blurb, I resisted and decided to do a little more research. I found out that Mike Geary is a certified nutritionist and personal trainer as well as a best selling author (has sold close to 500,000 copies of The Truth About Six Pack Abs). His reputation in the industry is untarnished, nobody seems to have had issues with refunds or thought that the book was a waste of time and money (and with the consumer being king right now, was easy to check this online). So I went ahead and purchased the book, here’s what I found;
The Truth About Six Pack Abs Review – the ebook
It’s very comprehensive, totaling 149 pages of info. The layout is simple and easy to read and it is very well written. The first 60 pages or so show you how to eat a healthy balanced diet. The rest of the book covers the exercises you should do to develop that six pack, with clear images of Mike Geary himself performing the exercises.

The really good things about The Truth About Six Pack Abs
The problem with my earlier research was that all the info about how to train, eat and maintain a healthy lean physique was too fragmented. Plus the message was not clear i.e. what are the correct exercises, what is the most effective way to fuel your body, what happens to your metabolic rate and what impact this will have on your six pack quest.
Mike Geary’s book contains all of this information in one place, but the best thing about his book is that he’s taken the time to provide menu examples, calorie totals, how each meal is made up, when to eat how much to eat depending on your height and weight. He holds your hand through the entire process.
The exercise regimes are applicable to people that want to train at home with minimal equipment (I train at home with a swiss ball and a set of weights). He then educates you on the principles and explains why he recommends certain foods over others and certain exercises over others.
He relys on the principle “Give a man a fish and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you’ll feed him for a lifetime”. The same applies to his book, he educates you on the principles, so that you can maintain a healthy lifestyle. It literally is like having your very own personal trainer without the cost.
The bad things about the Truth About Six Pack Abs
It really is very difficult to find fault with the book. It is long and comprehensive. There is no fluff or filler. It is straight talking and to the point, very much like Mike Geary himself. It is obvious that you need to be committed to make this work, but that applies to most if not all training/exercise regimes.
He could improve the ebook with some video material as some of us are bit more visual, but the images are very clear. He could have made it shorter, but then we would have missed out on a lot of the extras like the menu planning and exercise regimes.
The nutritional elements are quite complex, but in my opinion are a key element in developing a low fat toned body and losing stubborn belly fat. You need to go through it a couple of times to understand how the major food groups will impact your body in both good and bad ways.
In conclusion.
It’s pretty clear that I’m a huge fan. I’ve never looked as good as I do at the moment and this is all down to The Truth About Six Pack Abs. Without it I could never had done it. I’ve changed my attitude to food and am living the lifestyle that I want to.
It is about personal choice and if a six pack set of abs is important to you, then Mike Geary’s book will make it happen. However, The Truth About Six Pack Abs is also about living a healthy balanced life through what you eat and how you exercise. Very highly recommended
